How adorably cozy and sweet！ A little boy finds a star and adds it to his treasure collection。 Turns out the rest of the stars in the sky are missing their friend， though。 I loved the whimsical ending and the details in the illustration （the girl with the star chart， the costume party， taking the star jar everywhere--including the bathroom）。 So precious。

Thank you SourceBooks Early Reads。The target audience for this book is ages 3-6。 I first read this book as somewhat magical realism meaning stars don't fall from the sky and we can't beam them back but in this book， we can。 In this regard I give the book 3。5* BUT。。。I then saw a message that things and maybe people/children might find themselves in a place where they might feel they don't belong and yet they can return to a place of belonging。 THAT is a deep message for a 3-6 year old to process Thank you SourceBooks Early Reads。The target audience for this book is ages 3-6。 I first read this book as somewhat magical realism meaning stars don't fall from the sky and we can't beam them back but in this book， we can。 In this regard I give the book 3。5* BUT。。。I then saw a message that things and maybe people/children might find themselves in a place where they might feel they don't belong and yet they can return to a place of belonging。 THAT is a deep message for a 3-6 year old to process but the book could be read with that thought in mind by the adult reader if they felt the need to convey that sort of message to the listening child。 I found the illustrations to be lovely， sweet， action filled， playful， happy and joy-filled。I came to really appreciate this lovely book and I recommend for the multi-layers of depth。 。。。more
